Pinned toot

I just went wild and followed everyone on @LynnLamb 's profile. If you wonder who I am, I've had 4 books about animals commercially published. ENSLAVED BY DUCKS was a Wall Street Journal bestseller and is in pre-production for a feature film. KITTY CORNERED was a Mystery Guild Book Club alternate selection, FOWL WEATHER was a Nancy Pearl Under the Radar book on NPR, and FEATHER BRAINED won a Michigan Notable Books Award in 2017.

Please follow back. Thanks.

Please don't celebrate July 4 with fireworks. They scare pets and wild critters. They disturb children, people with PTSD, elderly people, and more. Celebrate, if you like, but do it without the bang and the boom.

Tubby little Tina isn't too impressed about the three editions of my book.

Thanks again to Lynn and Pletcha for honoring me as Author of the Week. I write humorous memoirs. One of my books has sold around 120,000 copies (print copies and ebooks). So if anyone has questions, I am happy to answer. I don't have experience in self-publishing, but I am pretty good at the writing aspect.

If I could convince Mastodon at large of only one thing, it would be this:

if you see someone complaining, DO NOT give them advice.

If someone ASKS for advice, offer it.

But 90% of the time, someone complaining is just venting. They're not telling you the whole story, and they're not receptive to being given advice, because in that mental state, your "good-natured advice" is their "HERE'S HOW YOU'RE DOING THIS WRONG".

Do not respond with advice unless it's asked for.

To all the Moms. Have an especially wonderful day!
